چکیده

We consider the description of the clustering of halos for physically-motivated types of non-Gaussian initial conditions. In particular we include non-Gaussianity of the type arising from single field slowroll, multi fields, curvaton (local type), higher-order derivative-type (equilateral), vacuum-state modifications (enfolded-type) and horizon-scale GR corrections type. We show that large-scale halo bias is a very sensitive tool to probe non-Gaussianity, potentially leading, for some planned surveys, to a detection of non-Gaussianity arising from horizon-scale GR corrections. Subject headings: cosmology: theory, large-scale structure of universe — galaxies: clusters: general — galaxies: halos

Oscillating bispectra and galaxy clustering: A novel probe of inflationary physics with large-scale structure

Many models of inflation predict oscillatory features in the bispectrum of primordial fluctuations. Since it has been shown that primordial non-Gaussianity can lead to a scale-dependent halo bias, we investigate the effect of oscillations in the three-point function on the clustering of dark-matter halos. Interestingly, we find that features in the inflaton potential such as oscillations or sha...

The Effect of Primordial Non-gaussianity on Halo Bias

It has long been know how to analytically relate the clustering properties of the collapsed structures (halos) to those of the underlying dark matter distribution for Gaussian initial conditions. Here we apply the same approach to physically motivated non-Gaussian models. The techniques we use were developed in the 1980s to deal with the clustering of peaks of non-Gaussian density fields. The d...

Non-Gaussianity and large-scale structure in a two-field inflationary model

Single-field inflationary models predict nearly Gaussian initial conditions, and hence a detection of non-Gaussianity would be a signature of the more complex inflationary scenarios. In this paper we study the effect on the cosmic microwave background and on large-scale structure from primordial nonGaussianity in a two-field inflationary model in which both the inflaton and curvaton contribute ...

Effect of primordial non-Gaussianity on halo bias and mass function

We discuss the effect of quadratic and cubic local non-Gaussianity on the mass function and bias of dark matter halos extracted from cosmological N-body simulations. This type of non-Gaussianity induces a k-dependent bias in the large-scale clustering of rare objects. While we find that at low wavenumbers k<0.03 hMpc-1 the theory and the simulations agree well with each other for biased halos w...

Large-scale non-Gaussian mass function and halo bias: tests on N-body simulations

The description of the abundance and clustering of halos for non-Gaussian initial conditions has recently received renewed interest, motivated by the forthcoming large galaxy and cluster surveys, which can potentially yield constraints of order unity on the non-Gaussianity parameter fNL. We present tests on N-body simulations of analytical formulae describing the halo abundance and clustering f...
